BISI SUMMER CAMP 2023 TEAM 

Camp Director

​

I am excited to be joining the BIS Summer Camp Programme for my second summer as Camp Director! During the academic year, I am one of the Deputy Directors for the Pre/Primary British International School. I have fifteen years of experience working with primary aged children in both educational and summer camp settings, and am a proud mother to three children of my own. I love the inclusive community, wonderful students and families, caring staff, and beautiful grounds that our campus in Zekeriyakoy offers. I look forward to welcoming children to the BIS Summer Camp where they will make friends, grow, socialise, try new things, and most importantly, have fun!

Arts & Crafts Teacher

I am delighted to participate in the BISI Summer Camp Programme this year. I have been working for the BISI family for four years. I am an English Teacher with seven years of experience teaching different age groups. I love working with kids and being a part of their learning adventures. I look forward to joining this fun adventure with you all!

Psychologist

​

I will be with you as a Camp Counselor at BISI Summer Camp. So, who am I? I have 11 years of experience as a psychologist at kindergarten, primary and secondary school levels. After working at BISI as a school counsellor for 1 year, I am completing my first year as an Administrative Deputy Principal. As both a psychologist and an administrator, I know very well the importance of the summer term for the development of students. The difference that a summer program based on sports, entertainment, socialization, games and learning will make is indisputable. We invite everyone to be with us!

EYFS Teacher

I am very excited to be a part of BISI Summer Camp as a Camp Counselor!  I have a Bachelor's Degree in Turkish Language and Literature and this is my second year at BISI. I have worked with EYFS last year and am currently working with KS1 students. I really love working with children and having fun with them. I believe with our BISI Summer Camp team this summer break will be so great!

PE Teacher

As a Football, Swimming and Educational Games Coach, I am excited to participate in the BISI Summer Camp Program in my second summer! During the academic year, I teach Physical Education at the British International and National Primary and Secondary schools. In total, I have 6 years of teaching experience in various international schools and 4 years of football coaching experience. I love spending time with children, having fun while teaching and watching their development. BISI offers us everything as a summer camp site. Join us, we'll have a lot of fun this summer!

Drama/Theater Teacher

Cemre was born in Ankara, Turkey in 1994. She moved to İstanbul in 1997 and completed her primary and secondary education in İstanbul. She completed her high school years at Eyüboğlu Schools with an IB Diploma. She attended University of Kocaeli, Fine Arts with the major of Performing Arts and Theatre. She has been in 15 plays, 2 musicals, and directed 2 of her own plays since now. She started working with kids in summer schools in 2016 with Eyüboğlu Schools and worked as a Drama Counselor in BISI Summer Camp 2022. 

PE Teacher

I am very happy to be a member of the BISI Summer Camp this Year. During the academic year, I teach IB Diploma Sports Science, IGCSE P.E, and Physical Education at the British International and National Primary and Secondary schools. I have over 9 years teaching experience as a Physical Education and swim coach. I have taught in a number of international schools and am really excited to be part of this edition this year. Join us for some fun this holiday and experience a lovely and enjoyable environment, and with this we incorporate our school motto “Our summer camp will provide a safe and caring international environment that celebrates cultural diversity where the children will have life changing summer break”.

Psychologist

​

Elif was born in Istanbul, Turkey in 2001. She completed her high school education at Modafen Collage in Istanbul. She recently graduated from Özyeğin University, Department of Psychology with high honors. This academic year, she will continue her Master's Degree in the field of clinical psychology in England. During her undergraduate education, Elif completed her compulsory internship on early childhood development and psychology in a private kindergarten, and is currently carrying out various projects in this context in the Interdisciplinary Child Rights Laboratory. She looks forward to the opportunity to spend time with kids and engage in activities that will benefit both their cognitive and motor development.

STEM/Science Teacher

I am very excited to be a part of BISI Summer Camp this year! I've been a BISI family member since 2018.  I have six years of experience teaching Science to various ages. I love to teach kids how to learn and create. I enjoy helping them find the most practical way to remember things, too.  I look forward to helping our campers create their own STEM projects! Get ready to meet Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths in a fun way!  

Swimming Teacher

Sena was born in Istanbul, Turkey in 2001. She is currently studying psychology at Özyeğin University and will graduate in the spring of 2023. Sena was a professional swimmer in Fenerbahçe for 12 years and was a member of the Turkish National Team. She has represented Turkey multiple times in different countries for the National Team. She started working with children at Kadıköy Watersports Club in 2021, and gives swimming lessons to children between the ages of 2-14. 

PE Teacher

I have a robust experience of 6 years teaching middle and high school students from various backgrounds, ages, and levels. I am a certified physical education teacher, football coach and lead several school fitness programs. My responsibilities include implementing physical activities, creating and documenting student progress, delivering health-related lesson plans and coordinating fitness training programs according to grade levels. I believe my teaching experience and passion for sports make me an excellent addition to the BISI Summer Camp.

Junior Counselor

​

Yiğit is currently a student at Bahçeşehir University, studying computer engineering. He graduated from Nişantaşı Nuri Akin Anatolian High School in 2022. In his free time, he loves to swim and play basketball. This is Yiğit's first year working at BISI Summer Camp. He is excited to work with children and help them have a fun and memorable summer experience.

Administration

I am very happy to be a member of the BIS Summer Camp. During the academic year, I work at the British International School as the Pre/Primary Administrative Assistant. This is my seventh year at BIS. I have 27 years of experience with both Financial Affairs and as an Executive Assistant. It is very important for me to make all children feel safe and that we are like a family here at our Forest Campus. It is a pleasure for me to be in contact with all parents. Join us for some fun this summer! 

PE Teacher

Duygu was born in 1987 in Istanbul, Turkey. She trained in athletics at Enka Sports Club and became a national athlete at the age of 15. Duygu won medals in international competitions and became the Turkish champion in sprint events while also serving as team captain. Her University education took place in Istanbul and in London. After returning from London, Duygu trained athletic teams at Enka Sports Club and Enka Schools. Since 2018, she has been working as a physical education teacher at Enka Schools. Duygu loves children and sports. This will be her second year joining the BISI Summer Camp Team.

Psychologist

​

Nihan was born in İstanbul, Turkey in 1999. She graduated in psychology at Uskudar University in 2022. She decided to work with children in order to accompany children on their precious journeys and touch their lives. Therefore, she did voluntary internships in different institutions before her graduation. After her graduation she worked in a family counseling center as a psychologist. She is currently working with children as a shadow teacher.

School Nurse

​

I am so glad  to join the BISI Summer Camp on our beautiful Forest Campus this year as a Camp Nurse. I have been working as a School Nurse at BISI for 16 years. I have experience with children aged 2.5 to 18. It has been wonderful to be a member of the BISI Family for all those years. I started working in 1994 in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit as a Midwife and Nurse. I was educated at Zeynep Kamil Nursing High School, and finished the program of School Nurse Health at Sakarya University. Our Summer Camp has very well organized health and safety procedures to keep all children happy and healthy and I am so happy to walk in this path as a Nurse during a magical summer camp journey.
