CAN CHILDREN USE THEIR CELLPHONES TO CALL HOME WHILE THEY’RE AT BISI SUMMER?

Children are permitted to use their cell phones during lunch time and other free periods.

WHAT CLOTHING IS REQUIRED EVERYDAY?

  • 2 spare t-shirts

  • 2 pairs of shorts

  • 2 pairs of socks

  • 2 swimsuits

  • 2 towels

  • athletic shoes

  • hat

  • sun cream

  • water bottle

  • backpack

WHICH LANGUAGE IS SPOKEN AT BISI SUMMER? 

English is the language of instruction for all activities.

WHAT IF MY CHILD DOESN'T SPEAK ENGLISH? DO YOU REQUIRE A CERTAIN LEVEL OF ENGLISH KNOWLEDGE? 

At BISI Summer, we do not require a certain level of English knowledge. However, the child should be able to express their basic needs to us.

WHERE IS BISI SUMMER?

BISI Summer is held at the British International School campus in Zekeriyaköy.

DO YOU PROVIDE BREAKFAST AND LUNCH?

BISI Summer provides a hot lunch, morning and afternoon snack each day. Breakfast is not provided. Our summer menu is published here. Our kitchen staff is happy to prepare food to accommodate camper food allergies as needed.

IS THERE A SIBLING DISCOUNT? CAN WE PAY WITH INSTALLMENTS?

For the year 2024, we do not offer a sibling discount. Paying with installments is not applicable.

DO YOU PROVIDE BUS SERVICE? WHAT ARE THE BUS SERVICE FEES?

BISI Summer provides a bus service with an outsource company. The buses serve many parts of the European side of Istanbul. For bus fees, you may contact Az-Al (click for their details).  

WHAT ARE THE FEES AND WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE FEES? 

The BISI Summer fees do include 

  • Hot Lunch and Snacks

  • BISI Summer supplies 

  • Day trips and Special Events

The BISI Summer fees do not include 

  • The bus service

  • Health/Medical insurance 

WHAT IS THE PAYMENT AND CANCELLATION POLICY FOR 2024?

PAYMENTS

  • Our camp must be paid in full at time of registration. 

  • All payments must be made prior to the start of the registered camp session. Payment will NOT be accepted on arrival day. 

 


CANCELLATIONS & REFUNDS

We recognize that sometimes plans change and you must withdraw your child from camp. 

We accept session changes free of charge.

Cancellations and reductions in registrations must be made in writing and are subject to the following:

  • Between January 31st and March 31st (The cancellation fee for Camp will be $50 per camper/session)

  • Between March 31st and June 24th (The cancellation fee for Camp will be $150 per camper/session)

  • No refunds shall be given after June 24th (Cancellations after this date will result in complete forfeiture of camp fees)

No refund, reduction of fees or credit will be granted for late arrival, early departure, withdrawal, or dismissal.

MEDICAL CANCELLATION

Should you need to cancel your registration on medical grounds we ask that you provide a signed medical note from your Doctor and that you contact either the Summer Camp Director or Summer Camp Registrar directly to discuss the cancellation. In a case of major illness, injury, or serious family situation while at camp, refunds will be provided minus administrative fees and the days spent at camp. 

DO YOU HAVE A HEALTH CARE PROVIDER ON SITE?

There is a full-time nurse on site during camp hours. Many of our staff are certified in CPR and First Aid. The entire camp staff is trained on how to use an EpiPen. 

WHAT HAPPENS AT CAMP DURING INCLEMENT OR EXTREME WEATHER?

We are fortunate to have access to indoor facilities. Our activities run as scheduled on rainy days, or we provide an alternate activity location. Proper rain gear is suggested. On hot days, we pay close attention to the heat index and alter activities accordingly. 

WHO ARE THE COUNSELORS AT BISI SUMMER CAMP?

Our team is comprised of caring, energetic counselors that are all teachers or teacher assistants during the academic year. Our staff are native to both the U.S.A and Turkey.
